Educational model

The Becoming Education Model

We believe that every child thrives best when they have meaningful experiences, authentic relationships and an environment that nurtures their natural curiosity.

It is precisely this curiosity that we channel into energy for learning.

Our educational model is rooted in sound pedagogical principles, backed by neuroscience: children learn best through direct experience, by feeling positive emotions and by sharing their journey with their peers.

That is why we have created an environment where emotions and learning go hand in hand.

Peter Pan Preschool and the English Primary School form a continuous pathway, from Preschool to Primary. English is part of the children’s lives from day one: full immersion at Preschool, structured bilingualism and Cambridge accreditation at Primary. Our approach is inspired by the Montessori method and active learning methodologies, integrating STEAM, coding and robotics.

A journey that develops over time, adapting to the children, not the other way round.

Teachers act as guides and facilitators, supporting each child in nurturing their own interests and becoming a curious, responsible citizen who is open to the world.

The Foundations

The vision and principles that guide every decision we make.

The heart of our approach

We transform children’s natural curiosity into energy for learning.

Experiences, relationships and an environment that celebrates each child’s uniqueness: this is how true growth happens.

A journey that evolves over time

Learning grows with the child: it is consolidated, deepened and becomes a skill.

A school that fosters growth

A journey that supports every child in their personal, emotional and cognitive development, building independence, confidence and a desire to learn.

An international, English-speaking environment

English is the language of everyday life. Children learn it naturally, through experiences, play and relationships, developing confidence and an openness to the world.

How we learn every day

Active teaching methods that put children at the centre.

Learning by doing

Children learn through experience. They observe, try things out and experiment: this is how they build authentic and lasting knowledge.

Learning together

Collaboration is an essential part of our method. Through the buddy system, children of different ages grow together: the older ones guide, the younger ones feel supported, and everyone learns through these relationships.

Starting with curiosity

All learning begins with a question. Children explore, make hypotheses, discover and rethink, becoming the protagonists of their own learning journey.

Independence and the Montessori method

At the Preschool, drawing inspiration from Montessori philosophy, we encourage children to do things for themselves. Adults guide without taking over, creating the conditions for every child to act, explore and build confidence in their own abilities.

Learning that develops over time

Experiences are revisited and explored in greater depth. What is discovered is consolidated, transforming into competence.

Cambridge International Programme and the English National Curriculum

The English Primary School is a certified Cambridge International School, which means that the English curriculum must include at least two subjects from the Cambridge programme: we have chosen English as a Second Language and Global Perspectives for Years 4 and 5.

Growing as people

Not just learning, but becoming.

Independence and confidence

Every child is encouraged to do things for themselves. Through everyday experiences, they build self-assurance, develop confidence in their own abilities and learn to tackle small challenges with composure.

Discovering One’s Potential

We help each child to get to know themselves. We nurture their natural inclinations, offer support when they face difficulties, and guide them in developing curiosity, self-confidence and a desire to grow.

Emotions and relationships

Learning to feel at ease with oneself and with others is the first step towards growing up. We help children to recognise their emotions, express them and build positive relationships, whilst respecting themselves and others.

Growth and Observation

We support each child on their own journey, celebrating their progress and respecting their individual pace of development. The focus is on the journey itself – on what each child becomes, day by day.

Where we learn

Spaces designed to encourage independence and discovery.

Environments that educate

The spaces are designed to welcome, stimulate and support. Well-organised spaces that allow children to explore, experiment and express themselves freely, encouraging independence, play and discovery.

Outdoor Education

Outdoor experiences are an integral part of our educational programme. Children spend time outdoors every day: in the garden, in the activity areas and in the Preschool’s Secret Garden – a special place for observing nature, reading and discovering the changing seasons.

The educational community

School, families and the local community working together for the children

School and families: ongoing collaboration

We believe in a genuine and ongoing relationship with families. Meetings, parent-teacher discussions, shared moments and joint activities foster open dialogue and genuine collaboration for the children’s wellbeing.

Welcoming and Inclusive

Every child is unique. We welcome and value differences, respecting each child’s pace and individual characteristics, and creating a peaceful environment where everyone can feel part of the community.

Frequently asked questions

Our schools adopt a socio-constructivist approach that places the student at the center as an active participant in building their own knowledge. The model is based on natural curiosity, which we transform into energy for learning through cycles of research and direct experience. This method aims to develop not only academic skills but also critical thinking, independence, and self-awareness.
Learning is not passive reception but a process of constant research based on experience and inquiry. We use a “spiral model”: fundamental concepts are revisited cyclically over the years, with their complexity increasing as children grow. This approach, combined with interdisciplinary planning, helps students build meaningful connections between subjects, transforming information into real skills.

curriculum

Independence is a central pillar of our model. At Peter Pan Preschool, drawing inspiration from the Montessori method, we encourage children “to do things for themselves,” with adults guiding without taking over. At the English Primary School, responsibility is built through concrete roles, such as Helpers and Eco Helpers, and through the Houses system which promotes collaboration and team spirit.
Every child is an active protagonist in their own learning. At Peter Pan Preschool, this translates into the freedom to explore and experiment in an environment that values each child’s uniqueness. At the English Primary School, students actively participate in class life, collaborating in workshops and research projects.

curriculum

Teachers observe, listen to, and support every stage of growth, respecting individual development paces and potential.

At the Preschool, careful observation guides educational planning, while at the Primary level, every child is supported on their cognitive, emotional, and social journey.

The relationship is the foundation of learning and is based on a dialogue of trust and empathy. Teachers act as guides and facilitators, not just transmitters of information.

The relational style focuses on listening to and welcoming the uniqueness of every student, ensuring the peaceful atmosphere necessary to motivate growth.
